This interactive lecture explores the assessment and management of pediatric medical emergencies. Approximately 50% of pediatric 9-1-1 calls are illness or medical complaints. Generally, calls involving children with pediatric medical complaints tend to be more serious as a whole, and the varied nature of these complaints makes this group especially challenging to assess and treat.

Assess and treat common pediatric medical emergencies including:
Syncope
Abdominal pain
Submersion emergencies
Diabetic emergencies
Environmental emergencies
Practitioners who successfully complete the Pediatric Medical Emergencies (ALS Edition) course are eligible for 1.0 hour of continuing education
