Pharmacology plays a significant role in prehospital and critical care medicine and is often an essential component of patient care and transport. Critical care transport professionals (CCTPs) need an enhanced understanding of all aspects of pharmacology to provide optimal patient care without causing further patient injury or death.
After completing this course, the practitioner will be able to:
Identify the pharmacologic properties of sedative, analgesic and psychotropic medications.
Describe the actions, routes of administration, dosage, and possible adverse reactions of sedatives, analgesics and psychotropic medications
Practitioners who successfully complete the Critical Care Paramedic: Pharmacology (ALS Edition) course are eligible for 30 minutes of continuing education
