This interactive lecture explores how to recognize and provide care for patients in at-risk populations, such as victims of domestic violence or human trafficking. Health emergencies aren’t equal opportunity offenders. The very young, the very old, the chronically ill, and the mentally ill are especially vulnerable. There are special considerations for treating these patients, and this lesson provides information to help you understand the pre-existing vulnerabilities of these populations.

After completing this course, the practitioner will be able to:

  • Identify at-risk populations and understand how to act in their presence.
  • Recognize potential abuse.
  • Identify training resources victims of human trafficking and domestic violence.
